Lullaby for a Cat

This brooch was created for the exhibition Home; 집, held at Ah-Won Gallery in Korea in 2024. When viewers scan the QR code on its surface with a smartphone, they are directed to my autobiographical graphic novel, Lullaby for a Cat. The graphic novel tells the stories of cats I encountered while living in the United States. Through this geometric metalwork, I sought to express my longing for home in Korea and the sense of kinship I felt with these cats.

이 브로치는 2024년 한국 아원갤러리에서 열린 전시 《Home; 집》을 위해 제작했다. 관객이 작품 표면의 QR 코드를 스마트폰으로 스캔하면 나의 자전적인 웹툰 《고양이를 위한 자장가》로 연결된다. 이 웹툰에는 미국에서 생활하며 만난 고양이들의 이야기가 담겨 있다. 나는 이 기하학적 형태의 금속 작업을 통해 한국의 집을 향한 그리움과 고양이들에게서 느꼈던 유대감을 표현하고자 했다.
